30 Sep 2019

Born on 15th September 1968 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to two middle-class parents, Smith spent the majority of his youth dreaming of a career in music and developing a passion for rap. At 16, he had nicknamed himself Fresh Prince and formed part of a trio that released lighthearted-rap songs such as "Summertime". Following the trio's success, NBC signed Smith to create a show, The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, surrounding the persona he had created. This role changed Smith's life forever and propelled him into his current A-list celebrity status. After his TV show, Smith starred in notable films such as Bad Boys, the Pursuit of Happyness and I am Legend. Even though he has received Teen Choice Awards, Saturn Awards and BET Awards (among others) for his acting roles, Smith continues to succeed in the Music industry with 4 Grammy awards under his belt.
