21 Jan 2020

Born September 26th, 1981, Serena Williams is an acclaimed American professional tennis player. Williams began playing tennis at the age of four. Before long, Williams was training at the tennis academy of Rick Macci, along with her sister, Venus. However, by the time the famed athlete reached ninth grade, her father became a self-appointed coach and decided that both sisters would only train from home. Williams benefitted from this decision and went on to forge a career filled with world-renowned wins. After a series of challenges at the start of her professional career in 1997, Serena Williams became the lowest-ranked player to secure two wins against top-10 players in the same tournament. Within two years, Williams made her way into the top-10 world ranking, after a legendary 16-match winning streak at the Miami Masters. Williams is globally recognised for her incredibly powerful forehand and double-handed backhand.
