Naomi Osaka – Grand Slam Singles’ Reigning Champion

Naomi Osaka is a Japanese professional tennis player. She was born in Japan on October 16th 1997 to a Japanese mother and Haitian father and moved to the United States when she was just three years old. Osaka's father recalls her demonstrating innate talent in tennis and began to train both her and her sister as soon as they moved to Long Island, New York. This early commitment and dedicated practice may be the reason that Osaka is currently regarded as a Grand Slam singles champion. In 2018, the skilful athlete made history when she beat tennis legend, Serena Williams and became the first Japanese player to win the US Open. The following year, she took home the title of Australian Open champion in women's singles.
