Born in Egypt as Mona Zaki is a renowned Egyptian actress who first appeared on stage as a teenager when she landed the first role she applied for as Mohamed Sobhi's lead in his play Bel Araby El Faseeh. She subsequently secured the lead in the TV series El A'elah, which began an abundant career in television. Zaki's performances have received extensive praise and made her one of Egypt's most sought after theatre, television and film actresses in today's industry. A dedicated philanthropist, Zaki is frequently vocal concerning social issues and has worked with the United Nation's World Health Organisation on multiple occasions. She is married to Egyptian actor and comedian, Ahmed Helmy; the couple has three children together.
