Lionel Messi: From a Football Star to a Dubai Star

29 Sep 2019

Considered as one of the greatest football players of all time, Messi was just 22 years old, when he won the 2009 Ballon d'Or and the 2009 FIFA World Player of the Year award by record voting margins and won three consecutive FIFA Ballons d'Or the following three seasons. During the 2011–12 season, he set the La Liga and European records for most goals scored in a single season, while establishing himself as Barcelona's all-time top scorer in official competitions in March 2012. Messi is also an altruistic philanthrope and has been closely working with the UNICEF. He also founded his own charitable organisation, the Leo Messi Foundation, established 2007, which supports access to health care, education, and sport for children. Messi has also invested in youth football in Argentina.
