Elie Saab – a designer fit to dress royalty
26 Sep 2019Elie Saab's story is one astounding success through none other than hard work and dedication. Saab was born in Damour, Lebanon in 1964 and spent his youth in a war-torn state. The designer showed skill and passion for his craft from a young age and recounts stories of fashioning clothes for his sisters from his mother's materials and newspapers. By 1982, Saab had dropped out of college in Paris to return to Beirut and open his atelier. This feat marked a pivotal point in his career, as he quickly began to dress not only the women of his neighborhood but also those of high society. By 1998, the renowned designer opened up ateliers in the world's most iconic fashion cities, Milan and Paris. Since then, Saab has ascended to dressing royals such as Kate Middleton, Queen Rania and Victoria Crown Princess of Sweden among many others.
